RIP KOP
such a sad day. as many of you know i was not simply a MJ fan. during my entire year of kindergarten i wore a red vest with black trim and either black or red parachute pants. and of course a white glove. during parent teacher conference my teacher told my mom that had she not had my brother and sister and knew my mother was in fact a caring and competent parent she would have been forced to call child protective services and report that i was being neglected. imagine how filthy a white glove can get playing in a fucking sand box on the side of dogwood. my mom called me this evening to see how i was handling the news. i said i was pretty broke up but that in many ways my MJ died many years ago. i asked her tho about my old get up. where does one find such close for a 5 year old. she laughed out loud and said that the pants were fashionable at the time and could be found at any department store. she thinks the vest came from marshalls but that seems unlikely to me (in my mind it was special ordered from a japanese catalogue). she informed me the glove was actually worn by my sister during her first communion. my mother had glued on the sequence to match mj's. turns out it was the wrong hand but i didnt seem to mind my mom also recounted one of her favorite stories to me. the one where we are cruising down temporary road and im sitting in my car seat and i said to her in all earnestness "mom, why cant i be black?" but paul, why do you want to be black? "because than i would be more like michael" stacie has a sweet mj ken doll. she has had it since she was in kindergarten. she also dressed up as mj for all hallows sophomore year of university. we have the mj ken doll resting on you coffee table and i plan to sit shiva with the doll for at least a month. if any of you are interested in stopping by for a quick dirty diana (plucinski) or PYT let me know. i love you all.

RIP Mike.
Also, i know that Mike Jackson wasnt the only reason you wanted to be black. I never saw Mike rock a fresh pair of jordans...feel me?
my love for the other mj did not blossom until late first grade i believe. i remember moms taking me to the lame shoe store at fox mill to cop the red and black knock off J1's (were they ponys?). this was also the same time i kissed two sisters in the same day at recess (kia lowe and the youngest williams whose first name unfortunately escapes me now).
her name was amy
You are talking about FR Ritchey's at Fox Mill and I copped a pair of the black 6's there. It was not a wack shoe store, just didnt have the street cred like foot locker or athletic house did.
