An interesting article that is worth a look over, if you have a second in your busy schedules and if you don't you should read this article, got me thinking about performance enhancing drugs. Every generation has its drug of choice, and as it turns out, I was shocked to learn ours might be Adderall. LSD is/was thought to tap into our minds creating deeper understanding, scientifically. Cocaine can make you “more efficient” for keeping you up, allowing increased productivity. But Adderall has the best of both worlds. It is thought that new drugs in the same line as Adderall are improving memory, and increasing productivity. These drugs take the brain from 50% efficiency to 80% efficiency.
It is an interesting article that has some key points---like 24 hour work cycle instead of just 9-5…and some of these drugs can improve your poker skills, but my favorite quote was about why people do Adderall, and its companion drugs, to improve mental capabilities,“…maybe they want something easier than sweaty workouts and Russian novels: a pill.”
One day we will be old, will we reminisce about the good old days of pill popping? Maybe, but then we will hobble over to the kitchen table, put on your glasses, pick up your weekly pill box, and pop some more pills. This party will never end!
