Wikipedia defines - "A takedown is a martial arts and combat sports term for a technique that involves off-balancing an opponent and bringing him or her to the ground, typically with the combatant performing the takedown landing on top. The process of quickly advancing on an opponent and attempting a takedown is known as shooting for a takedown, or simply shooting. Takedowns are usually distinguished from throws by the type of motion involved, but sometimes the terms are used interchangeably for certain techniques. Takedowns are featured in all forms of wrestling and stand-up grappling."
I don't know if any of u have experienced the wrath of a good take down move but let me tell u when executed correctly there is nothing more lethal. Think of it. Your prey, slowly moving about, totally unbeknownst to the brutality humiliation and pain that soon awaits then BAM! BAM! The attacker strikes. The prey is stunned shocked and on the ground. The witnesses might be stunned, laugher will ensure or some might run to support the prey. Stunned that prey might get up in front of 50 or so strangers and declare war or they might quietly grab thier smoke and go about their biz. Either way the take down move is still lethal, still out there, should be watched out for, should be respected and should be feared. When preformed correctly there is no defense.
Watchout fellow bloggers, takedowns happen.

A great athlete doesn't think, he or she just reacts. With keen awareness and instincts an athlete is trained to be ready for any situation. But it takes more than just those instincts and the ability to react. It takes the physical attributes to perpetuate the action, to get er done.
In this case we speak of a tackle. It is not enough to notice something askew (a ciggarette in a fiances hand for instance) and waste not a second in deducing that an action (the afore mentioned tackle) must be taken...but you must follow through. You must be able to take down the target. Wrap up the perpetrator and take them out, even if it means taking yourself down as well.
ADAD, you have prooved to me you are an athlete. You did not hesitate. You did not hesitate for one second. And you did not care the time or place. There is little difference between yourself and a cheetah hunting an elk...and the lyrical one is very impressed.
