the summer is not over

first, if i hear any one near me talk about how summer is over, i feel sorry for you and you clearly have not participated in one of the finer summers to date. maybe we have become afraid of summer, like this is our time to start our careers and establish ourselves and allowing ourselves to get caught up in the summer buzz is somehow less satisfying than before. keep in mind the following bullet points in regards to summer 2008 and life in general.

1-summer is meant to be spent with friends and family and to endulge your senses.
2-as long as you associate with friends who are still attending school full time, you can still have spring breaks and summer antics (as long as my friendship remains strong with a 757 great, i will see everyone at spring break 2025. hawaii?)
3-we work too long in the summer months. just because the sun is around longer doesnt mean we should work longer. take off 2-3 hours early one day a week and get fall down drunk.
4-quit saving you money for a rainy day. there are ways to save and still have a great summer with travel included. we are all gonna be fine financially, stop trying to become bill gates and be more like bill murray (i.e funny with text messages to friends, hay, and a neat dresser on the links)
5-if you have not already, commute to see a friend during the week or unexpectedly on the weekend. when there, laugh until you stomach feels not neat.
6-dont be afraid to drink pink or red frozen drinks. i prefer whiskey, but am tired of watching people order those drinks with a qualifying comment or stupid joke. if you order a light footed drink, order that shit like you would 5 shots of warm rail tequila while drinking alone.
7-stop saying the summer is over. make a point to get the most out of the next 6 weeks of warm weather and jump in a body of water other than your shower.
8-buy a bong
9-make a reunion. family, band, friending,......
10-come to dc and spend a day or two enjoying all that our nation's capital has to offer. I happen to live in said city and my door is always ajar for those from afar.
