You think smoking cigars on the front porch of a cigar shop on a major thoroughfare with friends, then taking a meeting out in Middleburg, followed with a few beers then a drive home, windows down at 70mph listening to Hagerbears isn't fun.
To hell with all of you. I wasnt invited to either party...I was left to sit alone and listen to ship of fools and polish off leftover papa johns.
You think that is fun? Actually, pretty pretty good. Next time I hear of a "friend" gettogether that I am not included in, please remove my name from your contact list.
Commentator, Just a running invite..I will be drinking every night and available for friend gatherings every night from here until I can't take it anymore.
Last evening, at one of the afore-mentioned friend gatherings, Big Show and myself were discussing a scene from the film Nurse Betty (hang with me here). At one poignant moment in the flick Nurse Betty, ole pucker face Rene, was discussing how she took off to Italy, Rome in fact, post college to spend some time. Probably some find yourself, where do I fit in the world type stuff. But, while she was there she would spend mornings drinking coffee on the steps of a cathedral. She found such joy in this, such solace. She went on to say that althought things aren't always so perfect and she isn't always content that no matter what, regardless of anything going on in her life, she will always have that. She ALWAYS will have those memories of that experience...and no one can ever take that from her.
So, what I'm trying to say and what we were discussing last night, is that these experiences we have, these ridiculous fun times, these friend get togethers or any of the wild stuff we have been fortunate enough to experience are ours...we will always have that, always. Know this.
Sometimes some periods of nostalgia and recolecting of good times had is good for that a**!
