rosy red and electric blue

over the last few weeks i have had several in depth conversations with people i trust, admire and respect a great deal. the general tone of these exchanges has focused on the importance finding the things that make you most happy and ensuring these those things are present in your life. what those things are obviously change over time. when i first moved to nyc the things that made me most happy were rock shows in small(ish) clubs, dive bars, access to heady films, bitches, weekends, quality time with tac oconnor and big J miller, and big group hang blow-outs in places where peeing in the pool are not only acceptable but encouraged. while 5 years later many of those things still rank very high on my pleasure list, my priorities have certainly readjusted. group dinners with superior grapes and good times buddies, quality walks with the wife, long weekends in the rockies getting gnar gnar, 2 hour cocktail hours at friends' nuptials, weekday rounds of golf, and weekly pick up runs have all made b-lines straight to the top of the list. somethings fade away over time. for instance, i cant really listen to the beastie boys anymore. nor due i find the simpsons funny. don dons are pretty much a bore. somethings get more stimulating as the years go on. i actually like watching baseball on tv now and have really reconnected with the grateful dead. in fact, thats kind of the point of this andy rooney-esque rant. i have recently completed a double disc dead summer jam mixer. its super heady in all the right places. if you order it now it comes with a bonus disc, my annual sunsets mixer. a perfect companion for sipping rose on your back porch or for cruising the strip in Ocean City, Md. please leave address in comments section if your looking to score.
besties for life,
