Part 1: Look up an old friend. This weekend I reconnected with an old college chum whom I had written off as a friend many years ago. This particular gentleman was a difficult person to maintain a friendship with due to his often manic behavior and utter selfishness. I had not seen him in five years but I knew he lived in the area I was visiting so I shot him an email asking if he wanted to catch up. He eagerly replied that he would love to. I spent a morning with him and his new fiance and was pleasantly surprised to find out he was in a healthy, happy state of mind. This young man will most likely never be a great friend again, but it felt great to know that was doing well. I would certainly look him up again. So I say on to you, if there is an old pal or acquaintance out there that you have lost touch with, pick up the phone or drop an email, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Part 2: As you prepare to celebrate the hallmarkiest of holidays keep in mind that one should try and incorporate some of the romantic sentiments of valentine's day in their everyday life with their loved ones. don't wait for 2/14 to buy flowers or cook your life partner dinner. I know its unrealistic to be mr. romance
every day but make an effort every now and again and it will go along way.
