When you attempt something new or different you will face a number of naysayers. New ideas and changing a direction in one’s life is always marked with various potholes, pitfalls and the like. The last thing anyone needs is someone pointing out how fraught with danger your new newness is. New and change should be faced with the wide eyed optimism of a toddler. Optimism is often crushed by the negativity of those who would rather secretly (and subconsciously) see you fail.
Subconsciously people see your success at something new as their failure for not having tried something new themselves. These subconscious thoughts breed the negativity that so many times are responsible for the failure of new ideas or a change of direction.
Most people are good natured and would overtly like to see you succeed, but are subconsciously afraid of it as well. So the responsibility rests with the doer of the new or change to forge ahead and make it happen amongst the detractors. A person only has so much power over their subconscious – we are all only human. You are responsible for your own outcomes… so don’t let nobody hold you down. Oh no. You got to keep on movin’.
“There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things.”
